I Public transportation

The metro remains the best way to get around Lille and discover the city in no time. The Ilevia network has two metro lines that take you everywhere, and numerous bus lines.

  • If you're aged between 4 and 25 and live in Roubaix or Lille, Ilevia offers monthly or annual passes for unlimited access to its network. You can take out a monthly subscription for €31/month or a 10-month subscription for €27/month.

  • If you're over 25, the monthly subscription is €62/month.

  • If you don't use the metro or bus very often and prefer to stick to individual tickets, you can always opt for 10 tickets for €12.25.

To avoid the long queues at the beginning of September, we recommend you place your pre-order on the Ilevia website! You can also register directly at an Ilevia counter in Lille Flandres or Roubaix. From the start of the year, we'll help you get a subscription that's right for you. We offer a wide range of options for obtaining a season ticket at student prices.

To get from Lille to EDHEC, take the metro (line 2) from Gare Lille Flandres to Mairie de Croix. Then, if you're lucky, you can try the n°36 bus. It will take you right in front of the campus.

I Taxis

When the first subway is at 5 a.m. and it's cold, you might want to take a cab... The best option for you is to take an Uber or Heetch. Uber is an app that lets you order a car to a specific location. The fare is quoted before the journey. Heetch connects you with non-professional drivers. The app is only available between 8pm and 6am.

However, if you still want to take a cab, you'll sometimes find one near Lille Flandres station.

I Train

The national railway company is the SNCF. On its website, you'll find all the prices for trains to Paris, with an average of €25. Other French cities and even other countries are served (like the Eurostar to London). Don't wait too long to book your ticket, as prices rise quickly!

There are a number of options for obtaining a student pass at student prices:

  • Carte Jeune (18 - 27 years): this card entitles you to substantial discounts (around 30% off ticket prices) for one year for 49€. Don't hesitate to take it if you plan to travel a lot by train.

  • TGV Max (16 - 27 years): with this pass, you pay €79 per month and get unlimited access to the TGV.  Note that you won't have access to all trains, only at certain times. If you take it, make sure you book your train 1 month in advance. Take this subscription if you're sure to travel several times a month by train.

Other offers :

  • InterRail Global Pass: unlimited travel in 30 European countries; on the website you can choose the type of pass you want.

  • InterRail One Country Pass: unlimited travel in one European country.

I BUS

Go to Blablabus for the best prices! It's much cheaper than the train.

I Carpooling

Another way of getting around France without spending too much is the car-sharing system. Many EDHEC students return to Paris every week, and look for passengers on the "Covoit'EDHEC" Facebook page. You can also visit the Blablacar website.
